India could see the introduction of more Range Rover limited edition trims, specially curated for the country, to cater to the diverse set of customers in the market, according to a top company executive. The brand is looking at enhancing its presence as it anticipates growth in the Indian market with the number of high-net-worth individuals expected to rise at a fast clip by the end of this decade. In an interaction with PTI here, the global Managing Director of the Range Rover brand Martin Limpert said that with localisation to a certain extent, the brand has been able to offer products for customers seeking value for money. Luxury automaker Jaguar Land Rover on Thursday reported record sales at 3,582 units for nine months ended December 31, 2023. The company said its sales rose 93 per cent year-on-year as compared to the April-December period of the last fiscal. Range Rover and Defender continue to lead with a year-on-year (YoY) rise of 250 per cent, contributing to over 75 per cent of the current order book, the automaker said. In the October-December quarter, the company reported a 74 per cent YoY growth, achieving retail sales of 1,226 units, it added. The newly launched Range Rover Velar witnessed a YoY sales growth of 183 per cent in the quarter, JLR said. "Over the past nine months, JLR's progress in India has been characterised by consistent and substantial growth. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) India on Thursday reported its highest-ever performance in the first half of this fiscal with sales of 2,356 units. The automaker had retailed around 1,194 units in the April-September period of the last financial year. The strong half-yearly growth was driven by record sales in both quarters, with Q2 witnessing a 108 per cent year-on-year (YoY) growth and retails of 1,308 units, JLR India said in a statement. The company had previously reported a 102 per cent sales growth in Q1, compared to the same period last year, it added. "The consistent growth in our order book exemplifies the growing strength of our brand and products in the hearts of Indian consumers," JLR India Managing Director Rajan Amba stated. Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) on Monday said it has commenced deliveries of the new Range Rover in the country. The model comes with a line-up of six and eight-cylinder powertrains, priced between Rs 2.38 crore and Rs 3.43 crore (ex-showroom). The new Range Rover comes with 3 litre petrol and diesel engines, respectively. The model also features a bigger 4.4 litre petrol powertrain. "The New Range Rover is the epitome of exclusivity and modern luxury, that strikes the perfect balance of peerless refinement with technological sophistication. It is truly, the most desirable vehicle meant for the most discerning of customers," JLR President and Managing Director Rohit Suri said in a statement. The new Range Rover comes with five seats in both Standard (SWB) and Long Wheelbase (LWB) body designs and an option of a third row for extended comfort for up to seven adults in the LWB, the automaker stated. JLR vehicles are available in India in 21 cities through 25 authorised outlets.
