Renting commercial property? Know these new GST rules

Imagine you’re renting a shop or office space, and the owner isn’t paying Goods and Services Tax (GST). Starting October 10, if you are registered for GST, you’ll need to pay 18 per cent GST on the rent, even if the owner isn’t paying it. This is called the ‘reverse charge mechanism’ (RCM), where the tenant, not the owner, pays the tax to the government. Watch the video to know more details
