Gamesa Wind Turbines, the Indian subsidiary of Spanish firm Gamesa, today said it has bagged a contract for supplying equipment for the wind project being developed by ReNew Wind Energy in Maharashtra.
Gamesa Wind Turbines has bagged an order from ReNew Wind Energy (Jath), a subsidiary of ReNew Power Ventures, for commissioning 74.65 MW of wind turbines, an official statement said. The order includes 50 MW of G97 – 2.0MW and 24.65 MW of G58 – 850 kW machines.
The order from ReNew Power was issued on July 11, 2012, and the project will stand complete in this financial year as per the contract.
The machines will be installed in Maharashtra, the statement added.
"The new 74.65 MW order from ReNew Power to Gamesa India comes as a real booster dose for the overall wind energy sector, reassuring and strengthening the wind energy market confidence," Ramesh Kymal, Chairman and Managing Director of Gamesa Wind Turbines Private Limited said.
