Mercedes-Benz registers 27% growth in Q1

It plans to launch 10 new models in 2014

Mercedes-Benz India has announced sale of 2,554 units for the first quarter (January to March) of 2014, representing a growth of 27 per cent  over the corresponding period of 2013. During January to March- 2013, Mercedes had sold 2,009 units.

The company said that it witnessed a surging demand for its new S-Class, ML-Class and GL-Class, all of which are currently wait listed, even after producing them locally. The firms new generation cars portfolio comprising the A-Class and B-Class continues to witness significant demand as India embraces “compact luxury”, said the company.  “Our volume drivers continue to be the C-Class and the new E –Class as they continue to enjoy customer preference in the luxury sedan segment,” said Eberhard Kern, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.
 

In 2013, Mercedes-Benz India had introduced eight new products in the country and plans to launch 10 new models in the year 2014. Mercedes Benz is producing 10,000 units per annum currently.
