Wipro leads global delivery model wave

Wipro Technologies, the global IT services division of Wipro, has been ranked ahead of other major IT service providers by industry analysts Forrester in a comprehensive study on the global delivery model (GDM) and offshore capabilities, according to a Wipro press release.

In the report titled "Low-Cost Global Delivery Model Showdown, Comparing Accenture, EDS, and IBM with Infosys, TCS, and Wipro", Forrester ranked the six major IT service providers in the area of low cost GDM and offshore capabilities.

The rankings were based on 60 criteria across three broad categories: current offerings, strategy and market presence. Wipro leads the other service providers with its strong service offering and market strategy.

According to John C. McCarthy, vice-president, at Forrester Research, Inc., "The move to a low-cost GDM is at the beginning of an evolution which will take place over the next three to five years.'
