Elections of seven municipal corporations and two municipal committees in Haryana will be held on June 2, State Election Commission on Thursday said. Elections will be held in the municipal corporations of Ambala, Panchkula, Karnal, Panipat, Hisar, Rohtak and Yamuna Nagar and municipal committees of Kalanaur (Rohtak) and Farukh Nagar (Gurgaon).
Bye-elections in Ward 3 of Narwana municipal council in Jind district and Ward 7 of Gharaunda municipal committee in Karnal district will also be held on June 2, State Election Commissioner Dharam Vir said.
Model code of conduct in areas where elections will be held will come into force from on Thursday, he said.

The State Election Commissioner said returning officer would publish a notice on May 10, inviting nominations from candidates and nominations can be filed in between May 16 and 21.
Counting of votes for municipal committees will be held on June 2 itself, immediately after closing of polls and on June 4 for Municipal Corporations, he said.
Polls will be conducted with Electronic Voting Machines, Dharam Vir said.
