State Energy Conservation Mission to be registered as society
Will act as state designated agency to coordinate, regulate and enforce the provisions of Energy Conservation Act 2001

The State Energy Conservation Mission (SECM) would be registered as a society and act as state designated agency (SDA) to coordinate, regulate and enforce the provisions of Energy Conservation Act 2001.
The mission would be responsible for advising government on policy and strategy formulation, coordination with key government and non-government stakeholders for funding and implementation of pilot projects, preparation of an action plan for rolling out state level schemes and undertaking research and capacity building.
The Andhra Pradesh government issued orders to this effect on Monday, according to a press release by State Energy Conservation Mission chief executive officer, A Chandra Sekhara Reddy.
