Election Commission of India (ECI) today issued notification for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections to be held in West Tripura constituency.
Elections for the West Tripura constituency would be held on April 7 and the candidates from different parties are eligible to file their nominations from today itself, an EC notification said.
The last date of filling of nominations is March 21 and the scrutiny of nominations would be held next day. The last date for withdrawal of candidatures is March 24, it said.
All the major political parties including ruling Left Front and Opposition Congress, BJP and Trinamool Congress in Tripura have announced the names of the candidates for the elections.
