Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader M Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday said steel city Visakhapatnam would be developed as a Smart City after the National Democratic Alliance returns to power at the Centre.

He was campaigning for Seemandhra BJP president K Haribabu, who is contesting for the Vizag Lok Sabha seat.

Meanwhile, addressing a public meeting in support of the TDP and the BJP at Narasaraopet in Guntur district today, actor and Janasena Party president Pawan Kalyan reiterated that YSR Congress president Jagan would never become the chief minister of Seemandhra. “Let’s contest in the 2019 elections on behalf of the Janasena Party. But in this elections, let us elect the candidates of the TDP and BJP,” he said.

Notice to Lagadapati: Chief electoral officer Bhanwar Lal said they had issued notices to former MP Lagadapati Rajagopal for announcing opinion polls. “Notices have been slapped on 10 channels that aired Rajagopal’s press conference on Saturday,” he said.
