Foreign exchange reserves rose by $178 million for the week ending January 10 to $293.29 billion, shows Reserve Bank of India (RBI) data released Friday.

Foreign currency assets, a key component of reserves rose by $190 million to $267 billion. Gold reserves remained unchanged.

For the week under review, the Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) fell by $8.6 million to $4.43 billion, while India's reserve position with the International Monetary Fund was down $3.9 million to $1.99 billion.
