Rupee weakens on month-end dollar demand

The rupee weakened in early trades today due to month end dollar demand from importers. Bearish sentiments in equity markets also contributed to the weakness.
At 10:00 am, the rupee was trading at Rs 61.94 compared with previous close of Rs 61.88 per dollar.
The rupee is seen weakening further during the day, said currency dealers.
