Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Shri Rajiv Pratap Rudy in a written reply in the Lok Sabha today has said that the Government is imparting computer training through Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the country in the following manner:
(i) Out of the total 126 trades, 10 trades are exclusively related to computer.
(ii) In other trades, wherever necessary relevant computer topics are covered in the curricula.
(iii) Information Technology Literacy course covering topics on basics of computers is taught as a module in the subject 'Employability Skills' which has been made compulsory for trainees undergoing training in any trade at all the Government and Private ITIs of the country.
