NIA and West Bengal CID conduct searches in Burdwan blast case

During its continuing investigation of Burdwan blast, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) today conducted searches at various places including the rented residence of deceased Shakil in Beldanga, Murshidabad (West Bengal). Certain incriminating documents and metal pieces used in making IEDs have been recovered. The NIA team along with the West Bengal CID has also initiated a thorough search of the Simulia Madrassa.

The questioning of arrested accused by NIA continued today in cooperation with WB CID. Based on preliminary investigation three persons were summoned in Chennai for questioning by NIA.

Meanwhile the NIA has denied reports appearing in certain section of media that the West Bengal Police and CID has not been cooperating in the ongoing investigation.
