Donald Trump endorses wearing masks, tweets doing so is 'patriotic'

President's tweet came as confirmed cases in the United States surpassed 3.8 million and death toll topped 140,800

US President Donald Trump called wearing masks "patriotic," seemingly endorsing the practice after an interview aired just the previous day in which he denied the effectiveness of doing so in curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
Trump in his tweet on Monday didn't explicitly say he would don masks from now on, but said "many people say that it is Patriotic to wear a face mask when you can't socially distance. There is nobody more Patriotic than me, your favorite President!" Xinhua news agency reported.
