Arhar weakens on sluggish demand

Select pulses declined by up to Rs 200 per quintal in the wholesale pulses market today owing to slackness in demand at prevailing higher levels.

Market analysts said fall in demand at prevailing higher levels, mainly kept pressure on the arhar and its dal prices.

In the national capital, arhar and its dal dara variety declined by Rs 100 each to Rs 2,900-3,400 and Rs 4,300-4,700, respectively, while lobia lost Rs 200 to Rs 4,700-5,200 per quintal.

Following are today's quotations per quintal: 

Urad 3,800-4,200, Urad chilka (local) 4,580-4,980, best 5,200-5,700, Dhoya 5,050-5,150, Moong 3,700-4,700, Dal moong chilka local 4,770-5,170, Moong Dhoya local 5,200-5,300 and best quality 5,900-6,100

 

Masoor small 2,670-2,970, bold 2,820-3,070, Dal Masoor local 3,450-3,550, best quality 3,620-3,920, Malka local 3,300-3,350, best 3,450-3,550, Moth 2,150-2,550, Arhar 2,900-3,400, dal arhar dara 4,300-4,700
