Cardamom up by 0.3% on rising demand

Rising demand in the spot market against limited arrivals from producing regions supported cardamom prices

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom maintained an upward trend for the fourth straight day with prices rising by Rs 2.20 to Rs 772 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions amid strong spot demand.

Besides, restricted arrivals from producing regions also supported the uptrend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in August gained Rs 2.20, or 0.29%, to Rs 772 per kg in business turnover of 623 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in September traded higher by Rs 1.70, or 0.21%, to Rs 793.50 per kg in 100 lots.

Market analysts said persistent rise in cardamom prices at futures trade was mostly supported by rising demand in the spot market against limited arrivals from producing regions.
