Press Trust of India New Delhi
Chana futures for May rose by Rs 22, or 0.63%, to Rs 3,466 per quintal in 69,130 lots.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), the April contract increased by Rs 17, or 0.49%, to Rs 3,440 per quintal in 54,860 lots.

Prices went up as traders enlarged their holdings on account of rising spot markets demand ahead of festivals.

However, new season arrivals and expectations of a rise in output capped the gains.
