Red chilli prices in Guntur are at Rs 12,045 a quintal. These are expected to decline in the coming days on prospects of higher production. Prices are expected to move towards Rs 11,900 a quintal.

Higher imports are likely to improve domestic supply considerably. Forecast of rains in the growing regions will reduce temperatures and help the progress of sowing. We opine that prices are likely to trade lower in the coming days towards Rs 5,000-5,200 a quintal from the current Rs 5,700-5,800.
