Lead down 0.31% on subdued spot demand, overseas cues

Weak trend at the LME weighs on lead prices at home

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Lead prices eased by 0.31 per cent to Rs 130.35 per kg in futures trade today after speculators reduced their exposures amid subdued domestic demand and a weak trend in base metals overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in January fell 40 paise, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 130.35 per kg in business turnover of 4 lots.

December lead shed 15 paise, or 0.12 per cent, to Rs 129.50 per kg in 185 lots.

Marketmen said besides subdued demand from batter-makers, a weak trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange, weighed on lead futures prices here.
