Sensex down 43pts; tech stocks weak

The NSE Nifty is down eight points at 5,029.

TCS has plunged over 7% to Rs 922. Satyam has slumped 4.4% to Rs 439. Infosys and Wipro have slipped around 3% each to Rs 1,598 and Rs 440, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra has slipped 2% to Rs 625. Ranbaxy and Tata Steel are down 1% each at Rs 494 and Rs 770, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates and NTPC have surged 2% each to Rs 238 and Rs 198, respectively.

BHEL and Cipla have advanced 1.5% each to Rs 1,799 and Rs 229, respectively.

Ambuja Cements and HDFC are up 1% each at Rs 115 and Rs 2,508, respectively.
