Sensex steady; Reliance Comm zooms 9%

The Sensex is now up 109 points at 10,458. Earlier in the day, the touched a high of 10,655.

Reliance Communications has zoomed 9% to Rs 214. Mahindra & Mahindra has soared over 7% to Rs 451.

Larsen & Toubro, DLF and HDFC have surged around 5% each to Rs 754, Rs 214 and Rs 1,661, respectively.

Tata Steel and Bharti Airtel has rallied around 4.5% each to Rs 235 and Rs 666, respectively.

Tata Motors has gained 2.3% at Rs 208. NTPC and ONGC has advanced 2% each to Rs 187 and Rs 887, respectively.

HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Hindalco are up nearly 2% each at Rs 1,053, Rs 367 and Rs 57, respectively.

 

Ranbaxy and Hindusan Unilever have shed 2% each at Rs 183 and Rs 226, respectively.

Infosys has dropped 1.7% to Rs 1,396. Grasim has slipped 1.5% to Rs 1,577.

ITC and ACC are down over 1% each at Rs 183 and Rs 593, respectively.

The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 2,334 stocks traded so far, 1,539 have advanced, 714 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
