Sensex up 26pts; Jaiprakash gains 2.7%

The NSE Nifty is down 12 points 5,000.

Hindalco has surged 4% to Rs 182, and Reliance Infrastructure has gained 3.3% to Rs 1402.

Jaiprakash Associates has rallied 2.7% at Rs 253.

BHEL, Satyam, Tata Steel and ICICI Bank have moved up around 2% each at Rs 1,788, Rs 499 and Rs 859 and Rs 895, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro has advanced 1.4% each to Rs 2877.

HDFC Bank, Ambuja Cements and Mahindra & Mahindra have added 1% each to Rs 1,488, Rs 112 and Rs 669, respectively.

HDFC has plunged 2% to Rs 2,649, and ACC has shed 1.5% at Rs 691. ONGC and Wipro are down 1.4% each at Rs 1,014 and Rs 501, respectively.
