Sensex up 456pts; Rel Comm zooms 11%

The Sensex is now up 456 points at 10,679.

Jaiprakash Associates has zoomed 14% to Rs 77. Reliance Communications has soared 11% to Rs 258.

TCS has surged nearly 10% to Rs 546. Tata Power and Satyam have rallied 9.3% each to Rs 788 and Rs 316, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure has moved up 8.5% to Rs 522. Tata Steel and Reliance have rallied over 7% each to Rs 271 and Rs 1,416, respectively.

Sterlite and ICICI Bank have moved up 6.7% each to Rs 290 and Rs 438, respectively.

Infosys, HDFC and Wipro are up around 6% each at Rs 1,378, Rs 1,990 and Rs 297, respectively.

 

Mahindra & Mahindra has plunged nearly 4% to Rs 401. Hindalco has shed 3.7% at Rs 63.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,479 stocks traded so far, 1,509 have advanced, 897 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
