Silver moves up in futures trade on higher global cues

Silver prices moved up by Rs 523 to Rs 43,415 per kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged their positions, tracking a firming global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the May contract moved up by Rs 523, or 1.22% to Rs 43,415 per kg in business turnover of 4,868 lots.

The July contract traded higher by Rs 521, or 1.19% to Rs 44,120 per kg in 720 lots.

Market analysts said speculators enlarged their positions in line with a firming global trend mainly pushed up silver prices at futures trade.

Meanwhile, silver gained 0.8% to $23.36 an ounce in Singapore.
