Turmeric, jeera fall on subdued demand

Turmeric and jeera prices fell by Rs 200 per quintal in the national capital today owing to subdued demand from retailers and stockists, amid adequate stocks on higher supplies.

Turmeric prices fell by Rs 200 to settle at Rs 7,200-12,800 per quintal.

Jeera common and jeera best quality prices also declined by Rs 200 each to conclude at Rs 14,900-15,200 and Rs 17,200-17,400 per quintal.  

Market analysts said subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid sufficent stocks mainly pulled down the turmeric and jeera prices on the wholesale kirana market here.

Ajwain 17,500-23,000, black pepper common 29,000-29,500, betelnut (kg) 110-120, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 960-1,050,and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,150-1,275

 

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 570-600, cardamom (colour robin) 600-635, cardamom bold 600-650, cardamom extra (bold) 850-880 and cloves (kg) 950-1,060
