ICICI Bank has surged over 6% to Rs 638. SBI has rallied 4.7% to Rs 1,181, and HDFC Bank has gained 4.5% at Rs 1,045.
ITC has advanced 4.5% to Rs 178. Bharti Airtel has added 3.7% to Rs 743.
DLF and ONGC have moved up 3.3% each to Rs 428 and Rs 905, respectively.
Larsen & Toubro, Hindustan Unilever, Reliance Communications and Maruti are the other major gainers.
Reliance has slipped nearly 1% to Rs 2,080.
