Weakness persists, DLF, HDFC, ICICI shed 7%

The Nifty is down 158 points at 3,935.

Reliance Infrastruture has slumped 10.3% to Rs 709. Tata Steel has plunged 9% to Rs 674.

DFL and HDFC have shed 7.5% each at Rs 392 and Rs 1,890, respectively.

ICICI Bank has tumbled 7% to Rs 580. Tata Motors has dropped 5.5% to Rs 391.

TCS, Reliance Communications, Ambuja Cements and Grasim have slipped around 5% each at Rs 832, Rs 397, Rs 72 and Rs 1,689, repsectively.

Jaiprakash Associates has declined 4.5% to Rs 138. Reliance, ACC and Maruti are down around 4% each at Rs 2,053, Rs 481 and Rs 555, respectively.
