Establishing its supremacy in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls 2017, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to form the next government in the state.

Riding on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's growing popularity, the BJP is leading on 310 seats in the 403-member assembly, while the Samajwadi Party-Congress alliance is on the second position with 69 seats. Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has bagged 18 seats.

Meanwhile, celebrations have begun in several parts of the state, with women in Varanasi celebrating the party's victory.

Earlier today, BJP's Smriti Irani lauded Prime Minister Modi and party chief Amit Shah's efforts and stated this victory has broken all barriers of caste and creed.
