Barca star Messi becomes father for second time

Argentine football superstar Lionel Messi has welcomed his second child into the world after his girlfriend gave birth to a son. The newborn has been named as Mateo.

The Barcelona striker's brother Matias confirmed the news on Twitter: "Mateo has just been born, he is beautiful," adding that they are savouring the moment of happiness.

According to Sport24, Messi already has one son with long-time companion Antonella Roccuzzo. Thiago was born in 2012.

Messi was voted as UEFA's best player in Europe for 2014-2015 last month.
