Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad on Tuesday said the Digital India programme is a platform which will create enormous business opportunities in the country.
Addressing at Digital India summit here, the minister said that the fast and timely delivery of government services will be possible once the platform is created, adding that the government will create an atmosphere to draw more private players in this sector to improve e-governance.
Prasad further stated that the government is working on a plan to take BPOs to small towns and rural areas to create employment opportunities.
The Digital India initiative was conceived by Prime Minister Modi and aims at ensuring the electronic availability of services to all citizens.
