Eight people have died in an apartment that was set ablaze in Paris, said officials.
Police said the cause of the fire is being investigated.
According to Fox News, there were two children among the dead while the injured were immediately hospitalised, said Interior Ministry spokesman Pierre-Henry Brandet.
Brandet also said that a small paper fire in the building located at the foot of Paris' famed Montmartre hill was extinguished by firefighters.
More than 100 firefighters were required to extinguish the blaze.
