Police in Bangladesh have charged five suspected Islamic extremists with the murder of one of the four secular writers who were hacked to death this year.
According to the Guardian, 27-year-old Washiqur Rahman was killed near his home in Dhaka.
Rahman wrote under a pen name on Facebook and constantly criticised religious conservatives.
Authorities in Bangladesh have been under international pressure to demonstrate their commitment to protect free speech in the country.
Rahman's death came just weeks after a Bangladesh-born American atheist blogger was murdered in Dhaka by machete-wielding attackers.
