The National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Progressive) has welcomed the army operation 'All Out' against the NDFB (Songbijit) militants following the recent massacre of over 75 people in Kokrajhar and Sonitpur districts.
NDFB (P) general secretary Gobinda Bsumatary said the incident had brought a very bad name to the Bodo community but the army operation should not harm innocent people.
"We are very ashamed about it," he said.
The NDFB (P) is the breakaway faction of the NDFB (r) that supported peace talks with the government when the Ranjan Daimary faction was not interested in talks.
Now, both the groups are believed to be in talks with the government. However, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had ruled out any talks with the perpetrators of the heinous crime.
