Pakistan government has reportedly ordered the army to ensure security at major international airports following recent attacks on airports in the country.
According to The Express Tribute, talking to reporters, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Aviation Shujaat Azeem, said the army and Rangers would be providing security at landing areas and main installations of Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar airports.
The Pakistan government has classified these airports as vulnerable to threats, the report says.
The army has been given the responsibility to prevent any further attacks on international airports amid fears of international isolation following recent attack on a landing flight in Peshawar and shooting at the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi that left at least 29 dead.
