Senior advocate Prashant Bhushan on Wednesday criticised the Aam Aadmi Party for naming Swati Maliwal as the next Delhi Commission for Women chief, opining that 'politically neutral' people should be appointed to DCW chief's post.

"Politically neutral people should be appointed on such posts. The AAP also misusing these posts like others and has completely gone off the path of alternative politics, which it had set out to take," Prashant Bhushan told ANI.

Maliwal, who is currently advisor (grievances) to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, would be replacing the incumbent Barkha Shukla as the DCW chief.

She is an RTI activist and the youngest member of India Against Corruption.
