RLD holds candle light march to protest woman's gang-rape, murder

A candlelight march led by the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) was held in the city to protest against the gang-rape, brutal torture and killing of a twenty-five-year old woman.
The woman's mutilated body was found in a school on Friday.
Reportedly, the woman was stripped and stabbed several times. There were stab wounds even on her private parts, the police said after preliminary examination of the body.
Protester Rajkumari said on Saturday that the brutality against women in the city has gone up under the Samajwadi Party's rule.
"Steps are not being taken to ensure the safety of women. They are being traumatised and crushed underfoot. These (such incidents) have increased under this government (Samajwadi Party)'s rule," she said.

Meanwhile, a prominent leader of RLD, Munna Singh Chauhan also demanded justice in the heinous crime.
"We are protesting against it (the rape case). We want a CBI investigation so that justice is done, and her soul can rest in peace. Rashtriya Lok Dal is also protesting to awake humanity. A condolence meeting will also be held," he said.
Uttar Pradesh, infamous for the dreadful law and order situation, has come under attack for the spate of violence and sex crimes in the recent weeks, especially after two girls were gang raped and hanged from a tree in Badaun district.
