Indian Air Force is today celebrating its 82th anniversary, where retired Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, is also seen in attendance.
He is the first sportsperson to be made the honourary Group Captain in the Indian Air Force.
To mark the occasion there will be air displaying of various aircrafts as a part of the Air Force Day Parade cum Investiture Ceremony at Air Force Station here.
The areas over which aircraft will be flying at low levels are Wazirpur bridge Karwalnagar Afjalpur Hindan, Shamli Jiwana Chandinagar Hindon, Hapur Philkua Ghaziabad Hindan.
Air Force Day was officially observed for the first time on October 8, 1932, when it was an auxiliary air force of the British Indian Empire.
The Indian Air Force has 170,000 personnel and more than 1,400 aircraft. It is considered one of the leading air forces of world.
It has the responsibility of safeguarding Indian Territory from all risks and provide help during natural calamities in affected areas.
