Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday claimed that fifteen years of Congress-Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) rule will see its end on October 15 and asked the people to vote for the BJP in the coming assembly elections in the state.

"In 15 years they have destroyed the lives of two generations in Maharashtra; if another 5 years are given they will destroy another generation. Press your button on lotus symbol on October 15 to get freedom from 15 years of misrule ," Prime Minister Modi said here at an election rally .

Launching a scathing attack against the Congress-NCP combine Prime Minister Modi said that the fear of him coming to the state was because the people had showered love on him.

"Congress-NCP leaders were worried why I was planning to tour Maharashtra, today when I see the sea of people here I understand why they were worried. They (Cong-NCP leaders) were worried because of your love for me," he added.

Prime Minister Modi said that he will do everything to ensure that the farmers cultivating onions get their due. "Those born in big houses served the big people. I was born in a poor household, will serve the poor," he further added. Maharashtra will go to polls on October 15 along with Haryana while the counting in both states will be held on October 19.
