TN governor accepts Panneerselvam's resignation as chief minister

Tamil Nadu Governor Vidhya Sagar Rao on Monday accepted O. Panneerselvam's resignation from the post of Chief Minister.
Rao however directed the senior AIADMK leader to function until alternate arrangements are made.
Panneerselvam had announced his resignation after MLAs of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) elected party General Secretary Sasikala the leader of the legislature yesterday.
Panneerselvam was appointed as Chief Minister on the night of December 5 within hours of the death of his predecessor J. Jayalalithaa.
