FMCG stocks edge higher
FMCG stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index increasing 86.23 points or 0.74% at 11727.77 at 09:48 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index, Emami Ltd (up 2.68%), Zydus Wellness Ltd (up 2.3%),Eveready Industries India Ltd (up 1.89%),Hindustan Unilever Ltd (up 1.86%),Sanwaria Consumer Ltd (up 1.85%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were GlaxoSmithkline Consumer Healthcare Ltd (up 1.63%), Apex Frozen Foods Ltd (up 1.57%), Mcleod Russel India Ltd (up 1.55%), Associated Alcohols & Breweries Ltd (up 1.49%), and Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (up 1.49%).
On the other hand, Parag Milk Foods Ltd (down 4.36%), Heritage Foods Ltd (down 3.12%), and Jyothy Labs Ltd (down 2.24%) turned lower.
At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 32.9 or 0.08% at 40690.59.
The Nifty 50 index was down 1 points or 0.01% at 11961.1.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 35.23 points or 0.24% at 14703.19.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 14.95 points or 0.3% at 5051.06.
On BSE,797 shares were trading in green, 529 were trading in red and 55 were unchanged.
