Oil and Gas stocks rise

Oil and Gas stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index increasing 105.96 points or 0.76% at 14029.63 at 09:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, GAIL (India) Ltd (up 2.32%), Castrol India Ltd (up 1.63%),Indraprastha Gas Ltd (up 1.59%),Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (up 1.24%),Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 1.17%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 0.92%), Petronet LNG Ltd (up 0.86%), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 0.53%), and Reliance Industries Ltd (up 0.36%).

On the other hand, Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (down 1.15%), turned lower.

 

At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 32.9 or 0.08% at 40690.59.

The Nifty 50 index was down 1 points or 0.01% at 11961.1.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 35.23 points or 0.24% at 14703.19.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 14.95 points or 0.3% at 5051.06.

On BSE,797 shares were trading in green, 529 were trading in red and 55 were unchanged.
