Net inflow of Rs 95.40 crore on 6 May 2016
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 95.40 crore on 6 May 2016, as compared with net outflow of Rs 328.04 crore on 5 May 2016. The net inflow of Rs 95.40 crore into the secondary equity markets on 6 May 2016 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2775.74 crore and gross sales of Rs 2680.34 crore. On that day, the Sensex lost 33.71 points or 0.13% to settle at 25,228.50, its lowest closing level since 4 May 2016.
There was an inflow of Rs 93.93 crore into 'primary markets & others' category on 6 May 2016 which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 94 crore and gross sales of Rs 0.07 crore.
FPIs have sold shares worth a net Rs 692.79 crore into the secondary equity markets in this month so far (till 6 May 2016). FPIs bought shares worth a net Rs 8347.69 crore from the secondary equity markets last month. FPIs have purchased shares worth a net Rs 12124.22 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2016 so far (till 6 May 2016). FPIs sold shares worth a net Rs 4362.50 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar year 2015.
The net inflow from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category has totaled Rs 108.50 crore in this month so far (till 6 May 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 68.04 crore from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category last month. The net inflow from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category has totaled Rs 202.31 crore in calendar year 2016 so far (till 6 May 2016). There was net inflow of Rs 22168.40 crore from FPIs into the 'primary markets & others' category in calendar year 2015.
