Healthcare shares gain
Healthcare stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Healthcare index rising 460.86 points or 3.12% at 15231.17 at 09:53 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Healthcare index, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd (up 13.41%), Caplin Point Laboratories Ltd (up 9.99%),Vivimed Labs Ltd (up 9.93%),Take Solutions Ltd (up 9.92%),Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Ltd (up 6.5%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Aurobindo Pharma Ltd (up 6.25%), Syngene International Ltd (up 5.31%), Sun Pharmaceuticals Industries Ltd (up 5.2%), Ajanta Pharma Ltd (up 5.09%), and Shilpa Medicare Ltd (up 4.99%).
On the other hand, Metropolis Healthcare Ltd (down 9.08%), IOL Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd (down 3.71%), and Morepen Laboratories Ltd (down 3.43%) moved lower.
At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 675.56 or 2.2% at 31365.58.
The Nifty 50 index was up 195.35 points or 2.17% at 9189.2.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 78.53 points or 2.18% at 3689.08.
On BSE,1195 shares were trading in green, 362 were trading in red and 85 were unchanged.
