FMCG stocks rise

FMCG stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index increasing 335.11 points or 3.13% at 11041.07 at 09:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE FMCG Sector index, Godrej Agrovet Ltd (up 12.12%), Parag Milk Foods Ltd (up 8.2%),DFM Foods Ltd (up 7.87%),Waterbase Ltd (up 5.02%),Heritage Foods Ltd (up 5%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Venkys (India) Ltd (up 5%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries Ltd (up 4.95%), Britannia Industries Ltd (up 4.94%), Future Consumer Ltd (up 4.92%), and Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation Ltd (up 4.86%).

On the other hand, Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd (down 4.96%), Shree Renuka Sugars Ltd (down 4.9%), and Avadh Sugar & Energy Ltd (down 3.51%) turned lower.

 

At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 675.56 or 2.2% at 31365.58.

The Nifty 50 index was up 195.35 points or 2.17% at 9189.2.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 234.74 points or 2.29% at 10481.01.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 78.53 points or 2.18% at 3689.08.

On BSE,1195 shares were trading in green, 362 were trading in red and 85 were unchanged.
