Turnover jumps
Nifty April 2013 futures were at 5693.05, near spot closing of 5688.95. Turnover on NSE's futures & options (F&O) segment surged to Rs 193805.60 crore from Rs 158653.14 crore on Monday, 15 April 2013.
State Bank of India (SBI) April 2013 futures were at 2191, near spot closing of 2189.75.
United Spirits April 2013 futures were at 2026, at a discount compared to spot closing of 2026.55.
Reliance Communications April 2013 futures were at 82.90, at a discount compared to spot closing of 83.
In the spot market, the 50-unit CNX Nifty jumped 120.55 points or 2.16% to settle at 5,688.95, its highest closing level since 2 April 2013.
The April 2013 derivatives contracts expire on 25 April 2013.
