Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index gains 4.43%, NIFTY jumps 1.38%

Nifty IT index closed up 4.43% at 13128.2 today. The index has gained 11.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, NIIT Technologies Ltd added 9.06%, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd gained 6.15% and Infosys Ltd rose 5.83%. The Nifty IT index has fallen 20.00% over last one year compared to the 20.57% slide in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Private Bank index gained 3.17% and Nifty Bank index added 2.87% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 1.38% to close at 9313.9 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 1.54% to close at 31863.08 today.
