Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index rises 6.65%, NIFTY jumps 2.29%

Nifty Media index closed up 6.65% at 1151 today. The index is up 13.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, TV18 Broadcast Ltd added 19.83%, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd gained 17.49% and Balaji Telefilms Ltd jumped 13.14%. The Nifty Media index is down 51.00% over last one year compared to the 20.63% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Energy index added 3.27% and Nifty Auto index gained 2.51% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 2.29% to close at 9187.3 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 2.42% to close at 31379.55 today.
