Quick Wrap: Nifty Private Bank Index rises 11.05%, NIFTY jumps 8.76%

Nifty Private Bank index closed up 11.05% at 10169.4 today. The index is down 33.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, IndusInd Bank Ltd added 22.56%, Axis Bank Ltd jumped 19.48% and ICICI Bank Ltd rose 13.76%. The Nifty Private Bank index is down 40.00% over last one year compared to the 24.23% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Bank index added 10.51% and Nifty Pharma index increased 10.37% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 8.76% to close at 8792.2 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 8.97% to close at 30067.21 today.
