Quick Wrap: Nifty Private Bank Index registers a drop of 5.45%, NIFTY Crashes 2.06%

Nifty Private Bank index closed down 5.45% at 9157.1 today. The index has lost 42.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, RBL Bank Ltd fell 15.50%, Axis Bank Ltd shed 9.26% and IndusInd Bank Ltd dropped 8.49%. The Nifty Private Bank index has decreased 46.00% over last one year compared to the 30.30% fall in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Bank index has slid 5.27% and Nifty Pharma index gained 4.77% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has dropped 2.06% to close at 8083.8 while the SENSEX has declined 2.39% to close at 27590.95 today.
