Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index rises 6.11%, NIFTY jumps 2.03%

Nifty PSU Bank index closed up 6.11% at 1238.05 today. The index is down 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Canara Bank added 11.59%, Punjab & Sind Bank rose 9.77% and Bank of Baroda gained 7.55%. The Nifty PSU Bank index is down 58.00% over last one year compared to the 16.38% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Bank index added 4.09% and Nifty Private Bank index gained 3.96% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 2.03% to close at 9383.55 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 2.03% to close at 32008.61 today.
